Prep Time: 3 minutes
Cook Time: 8 - 10 minutes
Total Time: 11 - 13 minutes
Serves: 6 - 8
Ingredients:
6 slices of bread, cut into 1/2 inch cubes (See Notes below)
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400F and set aside a 11" x 17" rimmed baking sheet.
To a medium bowl, add the cubes of bread. Drizzle with olive oil and season with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Using your hands or a large spoon, toss until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Arrange the seasoned bread cubes over the base of the baking sheet.
Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or to your desired level of doneness. Your croutons are done when they are golden in colour and crispy.
Let the croutons slightly cool and serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Choosing Your Bread: The world is really your oyster here! I typically use Delicious Sweet Hawaiian bread for this recipe but you can use whatever bread you have on hand. Rye, brioche, sourdough, whole wheat, dinner rolls, ciabatta, or gluten-free bread are all fantastic options.
Repurposing Day-Old Bread: If you have a few slices of day old or stale bread laying around the kitchen, don’t throw them out. Instead, use them to make these croutons!
