Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 4 - 6
Ingredients:
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
3 Tbsp freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano (See Notes below)
2 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
2 Tbsp fresh parsley leaves, finely chopped
2 tsp lemon zest (approx. 1 large lemon) (See Notes below)
½ tsp sea salt
½ tsp dried oregano
½ tsp red pepper flakes
1 baguette or 3 Ciabatta rolls, cut into 1-inch slices
Instructions:
To a medium, shallow bowl or a large, rimmed plate, add the olive oil and drizzle balsamic vinegar over top.
Top with Parmigiano Reggiano, garlic, parsley, lemon zest, sea salt, dried oregano and red pepper flakes.
For maximum flavour and complexity with every bite, whisk the Bread Dipping Oil until all the ingredients are fully incorporated. Grab a slice of bread and dip away!
For a prettier presentation, avoid mixing the dipping oil and leave it as is. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:
Fresh is where it’s at: Nothing quite compares to freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano! It’s rich, nutty and too savoury for words. At your local grocer, you’ll find pre-grated Parmigiano and the shelf-stable varieties but, I highly recommend buying a piece of fresh Parmigiano and doing the grating on your own. It makes a world of difference. Once you try freshly grated, you’ll never go back!
A zest for life: When life gives you lemons, make a quick and easy Bread Dipping Oil. Now, if you don’t have a lemon on hand, don’t fret! Simply substitute the fresh lemon zest in this recipe with sumac on a 1:1 basis. Either option works beautifully in this recipe!
